Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 matches the performance of the Apple A11

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is the new star processor of the American firm to give life to the best devicies with the Android operating system. This new chipset has gone through the Geekbench test to demonstrate the great potential it will offer its users.

The Geekbench listing does not give us the name of the chipset, just its code name “msmnile”. This processor has been paired with a total of 6GB of RAM in the test device, which was running the Android 9 Pie version of the Google operating system. Its result in the multi-core test is 10,469, which matches what the Apple A11 processor is capable of achieving. This means that Qualcomm has been able to match the performance of Apple’s current flagship processor, at least in multi-core.

We recommend reading our post about Qualcomm confirms that the Snapdragon 855 is manufactured in 7 nm

If we move to the score of a single core, the next chip of Qualcomm still cannot match that of Apple but comes with a result of 3,697 points compared to 4,300 points of the A11. It is clear that Apple will not stay put, and the Apple A12 SoC that will be presented in the next iPhones on September 12 will have an even better performance than the A11.

This means that the Snapdragon 855 will be behind the future Apple A12, so the company of the bitten apple will remain the queen of performance on mobile devices. There is also the possibility that “msmnile” is not a chip destined for smartphones, but appears on Windows devices. Anyway, we’ll have to wait a bit to get the first official details.

Do you think that Qualcomm will be able to surpass the performance offered by Apple devices with its new generation processor?
