Realme Q Quick Review, Specs/Features & Price

Here is another good mobile device from the stable of Realme released on the 9th day of September 2019, and it’s coming as the Realme Q. I love the simplicity in that name. first thing I want you to know about this smartphone is that it comes in three variants. That is very much apparent at storage department. Even more, this quick review will examine the full technical detail of this smartphone, starting below.

Design and Display of Realme Q

I notice that the phone has a large screen for a modern smartphone. The build is front glass and plastic body. The dimensions are 157 x 74.2 x 8.9 mm, and it weighs 184 grams which is combined with the battery weight, I can also see that the phone does not have waterproof capacity. Colors of the phone are green and blue.

Display features of Realme Q is IPS LCD technology, capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch feature. Screen size in this device is 6.3 inches with 1080 x 2340 display resolution, which is also one of the highest in the industry. Display colors are 16 million and there is no secondary display at all. Going further, pixel density is 409 ppi. Display protection includes splash resistance, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+. Also note, the screen to body ratio is 83 percent.

Camera Features

The phone has five cameras that are very powerful. We find four to the rear and one to the front. At the rear we find 48 MP, 8 MP, 2 MP and another 2 MP. Also, the front side of the Realme Q has one selfie camera of 16 MP. The camera is fortified with single LED flash. Of course, you can expect other nice features from this department as the need may be.

Realme Q

Hardware and Software

Realme Q comes with Android OS 9.0 Pie. It comes with ColorOS 6 user interface. In addition to that, there are hardware parameters that include Qualcomm Snapdragon SDM712 chipset, 10nm process technology with a CPU frequency of Octa core Kryo Cores 8, and the GPU is Qualcomm Adreno 616. Architecture is found to be 64-bit.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

At the storage it very evident there are three variants of 4GB + 64GB, 6GB +64GB, and 8GB + 128GB. Remember, the RAM never gets a boost. However, on the other side, the sensors in this device are fingerprint (built to the rear), gyroscope, proximity, light, and accelerometer.

Network and Connectivity

For this Realme Q mobile device, 4G is a must. It is amazing to note that the smartphone works with the following technologies- GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, and LTE. All these manifest varying degrees of good speed while surfing the net. Included are two nano SIM cards slots to carry out connectivity operations. Other network connectivity components are Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, FM radio, USB 2.0, and headphone jack.

Pros

  • Android 9 Pie
  • Nice design
  • Powerful cameras
  • Good memory space

Cons

  • Not enough colors to choose from

Battery Power

Powering the Realme Q is a non-removable Li-Po 4035 mAh battery. This phone lacks wireless charging but has fast charging options (20W). Manufacturer said the battery can charge fully in one hour through fast charging. It is not good enough battery because the phone has has powerful performance and massive storage space. So the battery can’t be a good backup for the phone. Surprisingly, the company said that music play time is up to 28 hours which I really doubt. If you make use of the phone please drop your comments in this regard.

Price and Availability

The price of Realme Q starts approximately at 130 Euros. But for availability, this smartphone is soon to be available and has been released.
