Samsung High-resolution Monitors Features And Price

Samsung has officially announced some high-resolution monitor models targeted at businesses and consumers. The new monitors consist of 12 different models and they all have HDR support.

Let us start with the Samsung S8 flagship lineup which comes in two 27-inch models with model numbers S80A and S80UA. The monitor also has a 32-inch model with model number S80A. They all pack 1 billion colors (10-bit) IPS panels and 4K Ultra HD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.

Samsung says the displays are compatible with HDR10 but in the real sense they are not. The displays can only boast of output 300 nits of brightness which is below the minimum VESA certified DisplayHDR of 400 nits. What’s more, the Samsung S8 monitors have a flat borderless design with slim bezels and support 10Gbps data via USB-C, and a USB Hub.

The 27-inch S80UA model has support for 90W charging. Hence it can be used for fast-charge laptops that charge via a USB-C port or smartphones. The monitors have full swivel and tilt functions. It carries support for HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2 input and there is a super-fast gaming response time of 5-millisecond.

As for the S7 series monitors, they comprise two models, the 27-inch S70A and 34-inch S70A. The two models have flatscreen 4K displays with support for HDR10, and 1.07 billion (10-bit) colors. It also maintains a slim-bezel design, and tilt adjustment.

Lastly but not the list is the S6 lineup. They include six models with sizes ranging from 24 to 34 inches. The model features QHD resolutions of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The one with the S65UA model is the largest and it has a 34-inch curved display, featuring a UWQHD resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels. These models all have support for HDR10 with 1.07 billion colors (10-bit) support.

The Samsung high-resolution monitors are set to start selling for $400 – $900 depending on the models and size. In Nigeria, this is about 155,000 Naira to 350,000 Naira.
