Tech giant Sharp just announced the Sharp Pi, their new midrange 4G smartphone. The device would be available on Valentine’s day as well, but surprisingly its already available on online stores. Unlike their Aquos series, the Pi looks different and affordable as well. It boasts of dual rear camera and packs the average specs that is perfect for light users.

Design

Made from both Plastic and Metal with a smooth overall back, the device is quite comfortable to hold. You would feel the smooth texture while touching the device, additionally the antenna lines also adds to the beauty. Boasts of dual rear camera just like almost every other midrange smartphone these days.

Both camera are horizontal at the top left corner with the LED flash right beside it. It sports a rear speaker at the back which extreme loud with quality bass. The device measures 8.3 mm in thickness which is normal, it weighs 162g as well. Overall, the Sharp Pi is beautiful and available in Gold and Black colors.

Display

There’s no reduction in bezels here, just the typical old screen type with the physical home button at the bottom bezel. The physical home button will double as the fingerprint sensor, since there’s none at the back. Now, what does the screen have to offer? Legs have a look.

The 5.2-inch IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen is like the standard screen if a midrange. Boasting of 1280×720 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch density. Although it has just 16:9 Aspect Ratio and 67.2% screen to body ratio, the display is quite stunning.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737W chipset with Quad-core processor reaching a clock speed of 1.3GHz. The CPU architecture is pegged at 64-Bit, while the process technology is 28nm. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 is fully in charge of graphics with just 1-Core processor. For multitasking, there’s 2GB of with a memory speed of 640MHz to standby demanding apps.

In terms of storage, there’s a 16GB internal storage space that is expandable of course. Upgrade up to 128GB by using a memory card in the Sim 2 slot. Sharp Pi runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.

Camera

The dual rear camera is quite attractive and definitely one of the features on the device that is inviting. But how well does it perform? Lets find out. The 13MP + 2MP rear camera would surprise you, it takes beautiful photographs. Yes you can 4K resolution images with the device, with image dimensions up to 4160 x 3120 pixels. Both camera cameras boasts of f/2.2 aperture lens, a LED flash and other stunning features like autofocus and the rest. At the front, the 8MP selfie camera boasts of f/2.2 aperture lens as well with no front flash.

Battery

Sharp Pi is powered by a 3000mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast battery charging feature. It should take between 2-3 hours to fully charge the device from 0% to 100%.
