Sharp X4 was launched today by the Japanese company as a powerful mid-range Android One smartphone with impressive specs. The tech giant said the core stock Android on the device coupled with 3GB of RAM will give users a seamless and cluster-free experience.
It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo as well, 5.5-inch big screen, 32GB storage space for files. In addition, the Snapdragon 630 chip is on-board with a fast octa-core processor and a 16MP rear shooter. Want to know more? Stay with me.
Design
The X4 boasts of a Metal + Plastic Mix body that’s quite simple and inviting. It’s mainly a Plastic back with a Metal frame. The sides and edges are curved for that sleek overall look and it should fit perfectly in your hands.
There’s no fingerprint scanner in sight, the feature has been moved to the front, just the way Sharp likes it. We can see the rear camera and LED flash are horizontal at the top left corner. It measures 8.9mm in thickness and weighs 157g overall, it’s available in White, Blue and Pink as well.
Display
Sharp already brought the selfie notch on its Aquos R2 flagship, I think it’s ok for them to want to keep it simple on this mid-range beauty. The screen will dish out the full view experience to users, thanks to it’s 18:9 aspect ratio. The physical home button at the bottom bezel doubles as the fingerprint scanner as well.
Talking about screen, the 5.5-inch FHD+ IGZO capacitive touchscreen is absolutely brilliant. The company is known for its beautiful IGZO screens. The screen boasts of 2160 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 439 pixel per inch density. It also has sPure LED and stretches up to 73% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Running the race here is the Snapdragon 630 chip from Qualcomm with an Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here clocks at 2.2GHz with a power efficient 14nm process technology. While the Adreno 508 graphics processor from Qualcomm handles graphics.
A standard 3GB RAM is available and ready to handle all your multitasking needs. It has a memory speed of 1.3GHz as well, while for storage, 32GB space will accommodate all files, yes, you can upgrade up to 2TB. The Sharp X4 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with stock Android.
Camera
Sharp X4 sports a single 16MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture, this lets enough light in and helps take stunning images even in low light. The camera has a 6P lens, with features like gesture shot, phase detection, HDR, panorama, LED flash and the rest. While for selfies, the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture as well.
Battery
Powering the Sharp X4 is a 3100mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.7 hours.
