The headphone jack lives on – Is this the iPhone SE 2?

it is now clear that Apple is working on an iPhone SE 2. The successor to the budget model from 2016 has been the subject of rumors for several years now. Only the last few weeks, however, concrete information pops up. Also from the camp of Apple itself.

One of the surfaced details indicated the departure of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple since the iPhone 7 only smartphones without a headphone jack. This makes the iPhone SE one of the last iPhones with the ‘old-fashioned’ port.

Or is not it? There is now an alleged photo of the iPhone SE 2 surfaced. It is expected that the budget model will be launched in early May, or during the WWDC in June. The photo appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo.

The source is anonymous, so for the same, we are looking at a fake copy. Anyway, the supposed device looks like the real deal. We see an evolution of the original iPhone SE, with a glass back.

That seems to indicate that the iPhone SE 2 can be charged wirelessly. With this, Apple aligns the budget model with the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. We also see a compact housing, which is fantastic news for fans of small devices.

After all, they have less and less choice in the current market. We also see a headphone jack, with which it seems that we still do not have to say goodbye. Somewhere it makes sense – this budget model plays in a segment where not every consumer has money for expensive wireless earbuds.

The execution will most likely be postponed for a while. At the beginning of June, we hope to discover more during Apple’s annual WWDC conference. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to discover the new iPhone!
