The Redmi Note 7 Pro may soon be able to play Fortnite

The Realme 3 Pro has been slated to come with support for Fortnite right out of the box. The phone’s closest competitor, the Redmi Note 7 Pro doesn’t have support for the game and Realme has seemed to use that as a marketing strategy especially over phones like the Redmi Note 7.

It’s beginning to seem like Xiaomi/Redmi feels threatened by the Realme 3 Pro. Below is a tweet by the head of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain.

The brand which he’s talking about in the tweet is Realme and the Realme 3 Pro is the phone that will have the “one-year-old” Snapdragon 710 processor. To be fair though, Realme is the cause of this thanks to the tweet below.

Anyway, the Redmi Note 7 Pro may soon also have the ability to play Fortnite if what Mr. Jain says is true.

The RN7 Pro doesn’t have support for Fortnite yet due to the Snapdragon 675 which it runs on which isn’t available in the US for now. The developer of Fortnite, Epic Games is based in the US and since the chipset isn’t available yet in the country for them to test it, they can’t enable support for phones running on it.

The Snapdragon 710 on the other hand which powers the Nokia 8.1 is sold in the US and Epic Games has successfully certified it. This is why the Realme 3 Pro also has support for the game. Xiaomi/Redmi is already working with Qualcomm and Epic Games to get the Redmi Note 7 Pro certified. When it is completed, users of the Redmi Note will also be able to play Fortnite on their smartphones.
