Sadly, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 isn’t an upgrade to the Redmi 5 in terms of the display but rather it looks like a downgrade. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 houses a 5.7 inch IPS LCD panel while on the new Xiaomi Redmi 6 is a 5.45 inch IPS LCD panel. If that’s not a downgrade then I don’t know what it is. The display of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 5 features an 18:9 aspect ratio with 720 x 1440 pixels resolution. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 packs a 282 pixels per inch density while the Redmi 6 packs a 295 pixels per inch density.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9.1 skin while the Redmi 6 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10.0 skin.
