The Ulefone S1 Pro is the more advanced version of the Ulefone S1 smartphone we reviewed earlier. The S1 Pro was announced but not released yet, it will be available on shopping stores soon enough.
Disappointingly, the S1 Pro comes with the same storage and RAM space configuration on its little sibling. However, Ulefone brought on the fingerprint scanner to compliment the Face Unlock feature on the smartphone. Lets find out more.
Design
Just like the S1, the Pro version sports a Plastic back and Metal frame. The Plastic back on the S1 Pro looks a little rough compared to what we saw on the first version, this was done to provide a firm grip when held.
Apart from the identically mounted dual rear cameras at the top left corner with the LED flash beside it. There’s a fingerprint scanner which was missing on the S1. It’s less bulky, measuring 8.7mm in thickness and weighing just 173g overall.
Display
The S1 Pro has the same screen on the S1 smartphone in terms of size, however the details on it has been improved for a much better viewing experience. The edges of the screen is also curved, compared to the boxy screen on the S1.
It sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, this boasts 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch density. Nonetheless, it dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio and stretches up to 77% screen-to-body.
Hardware and Software
The Ulefone S1 Pro is powered by a totally different chipset, the MediaTek MT6739 does the number crunching. It comes with 4-cores of processor which reaches reaching a smooth speed of 1.3GHz.
The PowerVR GE8100 handles graphics and clocks at 570MHz. It has just 1GB RAM space and 8GB storage space, but you can expand up to 128GB using a memory card. The S1 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box.
Camera
Flowing with the current trend, the device is equipped with dual 8MP + 5MP rear camera. The cameras are accompanied by a LED flash and other internal features. While the 5MP selfie camera boasts f/2.2 aperture and Face Unlock support.
Battery
Powering the Ulefone S1 Pro is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2 hours.
