The Ulefone S1 has been introduced by the company as a budget-friendly smartphone with trendy specs and features. The entry-level smartphone comes the face unlock feature and dual rear camera.
The device will be available on shopping stores immediately, with its 18:9 aspect ratio screen. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition and packs low storage and RAM space.
Design
The S1 looks really attractive for a budget device, it has a plastic back cover, but the frame was made from metal. From the rear, we can see it has no fingerprint scanner, so you have to rely on its Face ID feature.
At the top left corner, we can see the dual cameras which is horizontal at the top left corner. Beside the cameras, we can see the LED flash, while the loudspeaker sits underneath. It measures 9.55mm in thickness when you turn to the sides and weighs 183g.
Display
From the front, the screen is pretty standard. There’s a 18:9 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen staring at you. This should display visuals clear enough for you to enjoy.
The screen boasts 480 x 960 pixels in resolution and 195 pixel per inch density. Impressively, it stretches up to 74% screen-to-body, giving you more screen that bezels.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, it houses the MediaTek MT6580 chip with its older 28nm process technology. This comes with quad-core processor reaching a smooth speed of 1.3GHz. While the ARM Mali-400 MP2 comes with 2-Cores and clocks at 416 MHz.
Multitasking of light apps shouldn’t be a problem with the 1GB RAM space here which reaches a memory speed of 533MHz. There’s 8GB storage space as well, this is ready to store all files, you can expand up to 32GB. The S1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box.
Camera
One of the highlights of the device is the dual 8MP + 5MP rear camera. Each camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and is supported with a LED flash and other features. While the 5MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture and Face Unlock support.
Battery
Powering the Ulefone S1 is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2 hours.
