Vivo Y93 Standard Edition specs Review, 2 Variants, HD+ Display, Dual Camera

I wanted to know what changed in the Vivo Y93, released in the month of October 2018, and the Vivo Y93 Standard Edition released in August 2019. To tell you the truth, I was devastated to find that the new Y93 is not an Android Pie at the performance. I still think that’s a great disservice to buyers. However, what are the special takeaways from this new Y93? Read on to find out more.

Design and Display Vivo Y93 Standard Edition

The Vivo Y93 Standard Edition comes out in good colors of black and purple. As far as we are concerned right now, more colors would be better. Dimensions are 75.09 x 155.11 x 8.28 mm and it weighs 163 grams. It is a plastic phone but beautiful enough.

For the display, it shows that it is an IPS LCD HD+ capacitive touchscreen smartphone which is able to handle 16 million colors at the screen. Also, the size of the screen is 6.22 inches, the screen resolution is found to be 720 x 1520 pixels, 24 bit color depth as you have in many displays like this. There is also 270 ppi density, and 83.19 percent screen to body ratio.

Camera Features

Vivo Y93 Standard Edition comes with three cameras. The cameras to the rear are 13 MP, and another 2 MP, while the front-facing camera for selfies is a 5 MP. We love it for the ability it has for video calling. This phone’s setup includes single LED flash, and other good services such as auto focus. It is also very good for shooting at various modes.

Hardware and Software

Vivo Y93 standard

Y93 Standard Edition runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, and we trust it will be able to upgrade to the latest operating software (OS). For this OS, it has the Funtouch 4.5 OS user interface. Also, it comes with MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) chipset and the CPU is ARM Cortex A53, while the GPU is PowerVR GE8320. The Operating System is already a good component which compares to that of LG X6 except for the fact that the LG is an Android Pie phone.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

Vivo Y93 Standard Edition is a variant at this level because the storage capacity goes like this- 3GB + 64GB and 4GB + 64GB.  The internal storage of 64GB can be boosted externally with a microSD card up to 256GB. There are three sensors in the device and they include proximity, accelerometer, and ambient light.

Network and Connectivity

This Y93 Standard Edition is a 4G Android phone. As such, it makes use of two nano SIMs. The LTE speed composition is divided into several levels and they are LTE-FDD 800, 900, 1800, 2100, and 2600. The phone operates with 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE as the need may be according to location. On the other side, there are components like Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, USB 2.0 Type C 1.0 reversible, audio jack, and other features.

Pros

  • Good display
  • Android 8.1 can upgrade firmware
  • Beautiful design
  • Good performance features

Cons

  • Poor battery
  • Poor camera features

Battery Power

Powering Vivo Y93 Standard Edition is a non-removable Li-Ion 4030 mAh battery. The mobile device has no wireless charging but has fast charging supports. The talk time is up to 16 hours.

Price and Availability

The official price of Vivo Y93 Standard Edition smartphone price starts from $270 but depends a whole lot on which variant you want to buy.  This price is not confirmed and we don’t think you will see it as such in every place you find it for sale. Having been released in the month of August 2019, you can find the phone now in smartphone shops both online and offline.
