The Vivo Z10 has been introduced in India as the latest installment to the Z series. However, the device just looks like a doppelganger of the Vivo V7+ also known as Vivo Y79 in India.
The Z10 has a lesser storage space compared to the V7+, you only get 32GB storage space with 4GB of RAM. Furthermore, it houses the Snapdragon 450 chip from Qualcomm and has a 24MP selfie camera. Lets find out more.
Design
The Z10 has a plastic body just like the V7+ and at first glance from the rear you’d think it’s just another budget-friendly smartphone due to its simple look. It has just a single rear camera at the top left corner with the LED flash beside it.
There’s a rear fingerprint scanner as well which grants biometric access to the device. It measures just 7.7 mm in thickness when you turn over to the sides and weighs 160g overall. It will also be available in Champagne Gold, Matte Black and Infinite Red.
Display
Just like the V7+, the Z10 doesn’t come BV with a notched screen. You get the standard 18:9 aspect ratio screen here for the full view experience. The side bezels are almost non-existent while the top and bottom bezels are super minimal.
The tall 5.99-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays the standard visuals. It boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 269 pixel per inch density, for clear display. It stretches up to 78.4% screen-to-body ratio with the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, it adopts Snapdragon 450 chip from Qualcomm. The chip was built on a 14nm technology, so power efficiency should be great. It has 8-cores of processor which clocks at 1.8GHz. While the Adreno 506 graphics card handles graphics.
You get the same 4GB of RAM space for heavy multitasking of all your apps. While the storage space has been reduced obviously to 32GB, but you can still get it up to 256GB using a memory card. It runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Funtouch OS 3.2.
Camera
There’s just a single rear camera here, but it shouldn’t be overlooked, the 16MP shooter boasts of f/2.0 aperture, 1/3″ sensor size, 1.0µm pixel size and PDAF. It also comes with a LED flash and has other features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR. It shoots 1080p videos@30fps, while the 24MP camera has f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Vivo Z10 is a 3225mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
