Windows 10 – The control panel will disappear!

As you may have noticed, there are two Windows 10 configuration menus, the traditional Control Panel that we know so well, as well as the Windows Settings application. However, it seems that this situation is about to come to an end.

Windows 10 – The control panel will disappear!

Therefore, it seems that some lines of code were found in Build 19857 of Windows 10, which seem to point to the extermination of the old panel that we liked so much. One of them is the reference “Hide_System_Control_Panel”, as well as the reference “SystemToAboutSettingsSearchRemoval”, both in the same exact test version of Windows.

So, this seems to indicate that Microsoft is planning to hide/migrate some of the available Control Panel settings, to basically remove it completely from Windows in the near future. In other words, everything will pass to the Settings app that arrived on the OS with Windows 8, but which in fact has never been widely used by fans of the North American giant’s software.

Microsoft has not yet commented on the topic, but it is obvious that taking into account all the company’s movements … The Control Panel has its days numbered.

However, Build 19587 is expected to start reaching the public after the Coronavirus disappears, sometime in the second half of the year.
