The alleged Xiaomi Mi 8X has been certified by the Chinese 3C body in three variants: M1808D2TE, M1808D2TT, and M1808D2TC. As you know, this documentation never brings any details about the technical specifications but confirms that the device is practically ready to be made official.
Xiaomi could launch a fourth model belonging to the Mi 8 range – let’s talk about the alleged Mi 8X, codename Comet spotted a few months ago together with Sirius, the current Mi 8 SE.
As you can see from the images that have been published on the Chinese social network Weibo, the Mi 8X takes back the aesthetics of the other variants with dual cam vertical positioned at the top, curved side edges and rounded corners. Curious to note the absence of a fingerprint reader positioned in the back cover that Xiaomi may have decided to implement under the screen, as happened with the Explorer Edition.
Recall that the characteristics that emerged on the mysterious Comet also included a notched OLED display with Always On functionality, a 3,100 mAh battery, a Dual Sim module, an IR sensor and the Android operating system based on the 8.1 Oreo version.
Also on Weibo was published a photograph of Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, inside a plane holding the alleged Mi 8X in white color. Making a zoom and a crop of the image, we found, unfortunately, that in this case, it is a fake. Below are the original image and the counterfeit area.
We will keep you updated if anything new about this new Xiaomi device emerges.
