Just immediately after the launch of the Pocophone F1 in the market, the first F series device presented by Xiaomi received a software update that brings some system improvements, including camera and app. In addition to this, the company has also reduced waiting times for unlocking the bootloader at just 72 hours. It is said that the company is working to solve another problem, namely the lack of support for the Widevine L1 DRM.
The latest update on Poco F1 comes with the MIUI build number V9.6.18.OEJMIFD and has a file size of 335 MB. It solves system problems involving different apps – many users have reported not being able to start them, ed – and virtual buttons that were staggered. The update also optimizes the camera startup process and improves image processing.
In addition, the update optimizes the registration process for dual microphones and removes the Mi Roaming app from the Poco F1. The old MIUI navigation buttons have been replaced by new AOSP navigation buttons, as reported by the now well-known XDA developer forum.
On Tuesday, the Pocophone Product Manager, Jai Mani, announced on Twitter that the company has reduced waiting times to unlock the Poco F1 bootloader for just three days. A choice that goes against the standard 15-day Xiaomi policy.
In response to a Twitter user, Mani said the company is “investigating” the lack of Widevine L1 support that prevents Xiaomi Poco F1 from broadcasting HD content on platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar. Finally, the company has also solved compatibility problems that users had found to deal with some apps, such as Asphalt 9 – Legends. The Beijing house then confirmed that with the next OTA update a correction would be guaranteed for the audio of app like PUBG and YouTube, which is too weak.
