Zenfone Max Pro (M1) gets Android Pie update

If you are a user of the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) and don’t stay in India, then you probably want to check out the new Android Pie update for your device. ASUS had released the Android 9 Pie update to the Indian version (ZB601KL) last month but it just rolled out the global version.

When you install this update on your device, it will change the version number of your phone (the global variant) with model number ZB602KL to 16.2017.1905.053. The update is about 1.5 GB in size and it comes with May 2019’s security patch. Check out the complete change log below.

ASUS released the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) back in May 2018. The phone features a 5.99-inch screen which has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, surrounded by bezels. It comes with a Snapdragon 636 chipset supported with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. A microSD card of up to 256 GB can be added to expand the storage space.

On the rear is a dual camera setup which includes a 13MP primary lens and a 5MP ultrawide camera (16 MP primary camera + 5 MP ultrawide camera for the 6GB RAM version). On the front is an 8 MP selfie shooter (16MP on the 6GB RAM model). The phone also packs a 5000 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor (on the rear), NFC, and a MicroUSB port.
