DESIGN

The tablet’s design is really sleek and comfy at the same. It sports a slim build and a metallic chassis. Provided the tablet is a hybrid tablet, that is, 2 in 1, the tablet can easily be attached and detached from a keyboard. The tablet has a metallic kickstand that makes it stand easily on a table when used like a tablet. The right hand side of the tablet is where the USB type-C port, HDMI port, speaker and full sized USB 3.0 port are located. On the left hand side, the volume buttons as well as another speaker is situated.  The mechanical keys on the detachable keyboard are very comfortable to handle. Coming along with the tablet’s build is a ThinkPad Pen Pro stylus. This pen has 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity. The stylus pen has right and left click buttons and an inherent loop on the tablet is available for storing the stylus pen.

DISPLAY

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (2nd Gen) tablet has an exceptional 12.2 inches display. This screen display is not only large but super sharp. Its sharpness is presented through its super resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. The tablet’s display has 16 million colours. The IPS LCD touchscreen also has the multi-touch input.

HARDWARE, OS AND MEMORY

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (2nd Gen) tablet is powered by an Intel Core i5 CPU. This CPU clocks at 1.2GHz. Unsurprisingly, its graphics is handled by the Intel HD Graphics 615. The RAM of the tablet is an absolute stunner as it features a large 8GB DDR3 RAM. Sleek is the multi-tasking and running of apps on this tablet. While you can even mention the names of smartphones that have the 6GB RAM, this tablet comes with an even better RAM. Thumbs up to Lenovo for this! Storing up files and documents is the sole duty of the 256GB SSD storage. Absolutely large and super I must assert. The operating system of this tablet is the latest Windows OS – Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (the 64-bit version).

SENSORS AND CONNECTIVITY

A fingerprint sensor is present on the tablet. This sensor is a rare feature in tablets although it’s a norm amidst the smartphone genre. The connectivity present on the tablet is the USB Type-C port, USB 3.0 port, WLAN connectivity, GPS and Bluetooth. There is cellular connectivity on the tablet. The SIM type supported on the tablet is the nano-SIM type. With the SIM present, the tablet can utilize the 4G LTE connectivity.

BATTERY AND CAMERA

According to Lenovo, the tablet’s non-removable battery is estimated to give 10 hours battery life. Considering the price of the tablet, this battery performance makes it excessively expensive. The front camera makes use of a 2MP shooter while the rear camera utilizes a solid 8MP shooter. The rear camera has a LED flash support.

PRICE

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (2nd Gen) tablet is highly expensive with the cost of $1,698.
