AGM X2 Review – Ruggedness doubled!

AGM X2 Review

AGM is here with another rugged smartphone and be sure it is definitely going to meet expectations and beyond. We have seen what AGM is capable of through the AGM A8, right? The AGM A8 is a perfectly device designed to withstand various (the bad, the worse and the ugly) travel conditions and accidents like dropping in water, rainfall, falling against rock, extremes of temperature, and so on.

AGM is trying really hard to stamp its feet in the ground as the best manufacturer of rugged smartphones in the market today. With the release of the AGM X2, let’s see if the smartphone company really do have a chance at the top or not.

DESIGN

First off, you don’t expect this device to be slim, yeah? And lightweight. The AGM X2 has dimension 163 x 79.1 x 11.6 mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs a massive 213 grams (when battery is attached). The durability of this rugged smartphone cannot be overstated. The beautiful metal body design, the fine placement of the rear camera and LED flashlights as well as the simplicity of the device on the front shows the amount of work and expertise channeled into the design if the device. The AGM X2 is like the rugged smartphone with the finest design at the moment.

DISPLAY

The screen on the AGM X2 is a 5.5 inches Full HD AMOLED display that sports a pretty high-resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display promises to be of top quality as this is not the regular screen you find on the average rugged smart phone.

Being a rugged device, screen protection is expected and the AGM X2 didn’t fall short of expectation as it provides Corning Gorilla Glass protection enabling the screen to display resistance against scratches, dust, and shattering when ot goes against hard surfaces.

PROCESSOR, OS & STORAGE

The powerful AGM X2 is equally powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) Quad core processor. Quite a lot of power being displayed here. The processor is likewise fast and runs operations super fast at a speed of 2.2 GHz. Running a number of applications simultaneously wouldn’t be a problem on this device as  it comes with an massive 6GB of RAM.

Store as much as you want on the AGM X2, the 64GB ROM is right there at your service. There’s room for more storage (up to 128GB) when you use an external micro SD card. The AGM X2 runs on the latest Android Nougat v7.0 OS.

CAMERA

Asides having an outstanding storage build-up, the AGM X2 cameras are equally outstanding. There’s a dual camera set-up at the rear. The two lens are both of 16-megapixels quality and interestingly, they have the support of two LED flash for well lighted and bright images. How innovative!

On the frontal, there’s a single camera of 16-megapixels. The front camera will produce beautiful selfies and video calls quality. However, it lacks a LED flash like its counterparts at the rear. Taking selfies in low light or at night may not really produce the best selfies on the AGM X2.

BATTERY

A proper rugged smartphone should be durable and rugged in all aspects, right? The AGM X2 is a pretty example. The device comes with a monster 6000mAh non-removable Li-ion battery can provide users with 2-3 days of constant usage.

CONCLUSION

So, with the specs and features of the AGM X2 highlighted above, do you think AGM is worthy of the crown for the best rugged smartphone manufacturer?
