Recently, Alcatel announced officially the three smartphones in its Alcatel 3-series in which Alcatel 3 happens to be the baby of them all. Unlike the other three smartphones, this smartphone lacks a dual rear camera and instead uses a single camera at its rear. Despite its baby nature, the specs of this smartphone still puts it in the mid-range sector of things. How about we take a closer look at the fresh Alcatel 3?
Design & Display
TCL opted for the plastic material in the three smartphones released in the series but with different styles of finish. The Alcatel 3 sports the plastic material with a glossy finish. This rear region contains the single camera, LED flash, fingerprint sensor and the alcatel logo. At the fore, the smartphone’s top bezel houses a single camera, LED flash, earpiece and light sensor. On the smartphone’s right, there are the dedicated keys which includes the power and volume keys. The bottom bezel appears thin just like its top bezel counterpart but in its case, it has no occupants. The smartphone’s dimensions are 147.1 mm length x 68.8 mm width x 8.5 mm thickness. Its weight is low at 145 g mark while its color options are Black, Gold and Blue.

The bezel-less display of this smartphone carries an 18:9 aspect ratio together with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Clarity is further expressed by the 293 PPI. This display has a large 5.5 inches size which is of the IPS LCD origin. Added features are the multi-touch input, 16 million display colors and 77% screen-to-body ratio.
Camera
The rear region of the smartphone has a good 13 megapixel to itself and a LED flash to brighten things up in low light conditions. Features such as the Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) is present on the camera. This feature makes use of electronic processing to give images stability. Added features of its rear camera are f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, HDR, panorama and auto focus. In the front section, a 5 MP camera handles snapping of selfies. Also, a LED flash is supported to brighten images.
CPU, OS & Storage
MediaTek MT6739 serves the chipset functions on the smartphone. Enclosed within the chipset there’s the Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 that clocks at 1.3 GHz. The processor is of the 64-bit architecture and works in line with the PowerVR GE8100 for the graphics production. Android Oreo OS is the OS running on Alcatel 3. The RAM has a 2 GB capacity tat tales care of multitasking while a 16 GB ROM stores files. This internal storage can be expanded to 128 GB with the aid of a MicroSD card.
Battery
Alcatel 3 uses a non-removable Li-Ion 3,000 mAh as its power source.
