The Alcatel 5X is the 2021 latest smartphone from the company. The device was announced on the 5th of January and it sports a four rear cameras setup coupled with Android 10 OS. It also has a nice body with a large battery and a waterdrop display.
Design And Display
In terms of body design, the Alcatel 5X resembles the Samsung Galaxy A12 device. The phone comes in a smooth panel that is built with plastic. It has body dimensions of 165 x 75 x 9.09 mm and weighs 186 grams. On the front side, it packs a waterdrop notch and a small bezel at the bottom of the screen.
The Alcatel 5X features a screen display size of 6.52 inches under IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The screen has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 19.5:9 ratio, and 274 PPI density. Furthermore, it’s protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and packs an 80.3% screen-to-body ratio.
Cameras Features
The camera department has a quad-camera setup on the back. The main camera is 48 MP with autofocus, 5 MP wide-angle cameras, and also a dedicated 2 MP macro and 2 MP depth sensor. The cameras have some internal features that include LED Flash, HDR, Panorama, Digital Zoom, etc. It can record 1080p@30fps videos. The front side has a 13 MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture, HDR, and Face ID.

The Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset available on the phone is based on a 12nm process node and it has an octa-core processor clocking at a speed of 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 & 6×1.45 GHz Cortex A53. This is supported by PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics and the Android 10 operating system.
The inbuilt memory on the device is a generous 128GB and 4GB RAM. The memory is more than enough, it’s the chipset that is not encouraging. However, considering the device price tag, the smartphone is not that bad. You can also expand the storage. Meanwhile, the Alcatel 5X has Fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, and compass.

The Alcatel 5X is backed by a non-removable battery of 5000 mAh but sadly without fast charging. One thing we know for sure here is that the battery will last long.
