Android 9 Pie – Faster updates are barely noticeable

Actually, updating Android 8 Oreo to Android 9 Pie should be very fast, but Project Treble has only been able to underline its advantages in a few examples so far. Actually, only two manufacturers have updated their current devices quickly, in addition to Google, the start-up brand Essential was able to update its own phone within a few hours on Android 9 Pie. Since then, we are waiting for more candidates, Nokia will follow suit with the 7 Plus in the next few days.

This can be seen in the statistics for the distribution of the Android versions. In the official part of Google is Android 9 Pie still less than 0.1 percent and therefore not even appears. Even Android 8 Oreo is now after just over a year on only 14.6 percent of the “measured” devices. At 30.8 percent, Android 7 Nougat has the upper hand, followed by Android 6 Marshmallow with 22.7 percent.

On our blog, things look different, in the past seven days, 10.14 percent of visitors were already on Android 9 Pie and 55.47 percent on Android 8 Oreo. Few of our readers have an Android version that has more than two years under its belt. Sure, with us, the reality shifts slightly due to the themes of our site.
