Android Pie Introduced The DNS Over TLS Mode – What It Is For And How To Enable It

The stable version of Android Pie 9.0 has been released for a few weeks and we are still discovering the different news. What we are talking about today is about a new way of browsing, which would be focused on privacy and security.

Previously we talked about the customization of the Domain Name System (DNS), which is useful to speed up web browsing compared to what happens using public DNS. The new DNS over TLS mode combines increased server responsiveness with DNS query encryption so that no ISP or network operator can access it.

This navigation mode is also available on Android devices, updated to the latest version of the green robot, and can be activated by going to the advanced network settings, accessing the “Private DNS” section and writing the address of the custom DNS.
