Archos Core 60S launched with Dual Rear Camera – Review, Full Specs and Price

Archos launched the Archos Core 60S on the 12th of February, the midrange device comes with dual rear camera. Its almost impossible to see a new smartphone these days without the dual rear shooters. The trend has been rampant this past year, with smartphone companies integrating the feature with their latest phones. Without further ado, meet the Archos Core 60S.

Design

Archos Core 60S

Made from a Metal mix overall Plastic body, the Core 60S is a stunner. The device reflects light beautifully, and its quite comfortable to hold with a soft feel to it. The rear fingerprint scanner is just at the usual place, above the Archos logo. While the rear fingerprint scanner and dual-LED flash are side by side at the top left.

To the sides, the volume keys and power button are on the left side from a user’s view. Speaking of sides, it measures 8.9 mm slim as well and weighs 183g overall. The smartphone is only available in Blue colors, its still uncertain if Archos would release more colors soon.

Display

A midrange device with so much bezels, when will that end? Disappointingly, there’s no navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, as they were moved up to the screen. I still don’t understand why the bottom bezels are still there though. Lets forget about the bezels and focus on the screen for a moment.

The 6-inch HD+ IPS capacitive touchscreen is pretty impressive, boasting of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution. It has 268 pixel per inch density as well, with 18:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the screen is not that bad and would display stunning visuals. The multi-touch screen stretched all the way to 74.76% screen to body ratio for a full view.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the Spreadtrum SC9850 chipset with 4-cores. The Quad-core processor reaches a clock speed of 1.3GHz with 32-Bit CPU architecture. For graphics, the ARM Mali-820 MP1 graphics processor is in charge with 28nm process technology.

Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem for light users at all, thanks to the available 2GB of RAM. Save all files, games, movies and apps on 16GB internal storage space, which of course is upgradeable to 32GB using microSD. The Core 60S runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.

Camera

The dual rear 13MP + 2MP shooters are very sharp, both cameras will work together to capture 4K resolution images. Take your photography skills to the next level, the camera has lots of features and a dual-LED flash that helps take photographs with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension. Record clips of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second as well with the Archos Core 60S. For your daily selfies, there’s a 5MP front shooter with no LED flash in sight here.

Battery

Powering the Archos Core 60S is a 3000mAh removable Li-Po battery, with no fast battery charging feature. Without the fast charging technology, it might take up to 3 hours to fully charge this device.
