When we tested the Asus ROG Phone 2 at TechVaz, we quickly realized that it was undoubtedly one of the most powerful gaming devices and more. In fact, we even considered it the best equipment on the market, as you can see here. This set the bar very high for the successor. The appearance of this smartphone at TENAA and the fact that we got to know some specifications yesterday show that this manufacturer is on the right track. But is it enough? One thing is right. Outside, little changes. However, inside the ASUS ROG Phone 3, there are several upgrades with games in mind.
ASUS ROG Phone 3- after all what is the new bet for games worth?
To start the new bet from ASUS you should bet on an overclocked Snapdragon 865 chipset. Is that the main core of this processor operate at 2.84GHz. However, the TENAA listing reveals that it runs at 3,091 GHz. However, there is, so far, no mention of overclocking. In the case of memory, we will have more capacity than most PCs. I mean, in particular, 16GB of memory. At the moment there are still only two other devices on the market with this capability. They are the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Nubia Red Magic 5G.
At the front, we will have to settle for a 6.59-inch panel. In my opinion, it is more than enough. However, there is something that I would like to see and that at this moment could be important. For this model and according to TENAA it looks like ASUS will continue to focus on the FHD + resolution as its predecessor. Still, I think an upgrade to a QHD + resolution could make a difference. The refresh rate has not been revealed, although it is not expected to be less than the 120HZ of the previous model.
However, there are things that have not changed. Thus, this equipment maintains the 6000 mAh battery and 512GB of storage. There is no variant of 1TB mentioned in the list.
The images that reached the Internet show that ASUS will add a third camera to the new smartphone. In the case of the sensor, we don’t know anything special. However, it looks like the main camera will be upgraded to 64MP. The Rog 2 had a 48-megapixel camera.
In terms of weight, they are very similar. About 240 grams.
Being an equipment for players there is something else that I would like to see and is not present. The 3.5 mm headphone output. Of course, we can always buy a separate adapter. However, it is not the same thing.
We are not sure when the Asus ROG Phone 3 will be released. However, it looks like it will be released in July. The price must be 1000 Euros.
