Taiwanese computer and mobile phone manufacturer Asus Thursday expanded the already extensive Zenfone 3 family with the unveiling of the Zenfone 3 Laser and Zenfone 3 Max. Both devices were unveiled at a special ceremony held in Vietnam.
The Zenfone 3 Laser is the largest in the size of the two devices and is thought to be the successor to the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser. The phone sports an all metal body with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display with 1080pixel resolution. The display has a 2.5D glass on top of it for protection. The Zenfone 3 Laser boots Android 6.0 marshmallow from the go as well as a whopping 5000mAh battery pack.
The Zenfone 3 Laser packs a 13MP PixelMaster 3.0 camera using Sony IM214 sensor at the rear. The rear camera also comes with ultra-fast 0.03s second-gen laser autofocus system. There are also other amazing features on the camera like electronic image stabilisation and a colour correction sensor.
Other features touted to be the Asus Zenfone 3 Laser include; 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage onboard, a fingerprint sensor and the device is specified to be 7.9mm thick. The Zenfone 3 Laser costs VND 5,990,000 (Did they say Vietnam or Zimbabwe?) which is about $268 US dollars and €241 in Europe going by the current exchange rates.
On the other hand, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max sports a smaller 5.2-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display and comes in a metal unibody as well. The Zenfone 3 Max crams a lower but nice 4100mAh battery under its hood which Asus says can last up to 30 days on standby mode and can be used to charge other phones. The device also comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage and a super fast fingerprint scanner.
The price of the Zenfone 3 Max is lower starting at VND 4,490,000 (so much for inflation) which is about $201 and €181 in the United States and Europe respectively.
