Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 gets official update to Android 9 Pie

As known, Android 9 Pie has landed for a couple of months and has already reached several phones. The first was the Pixel phones and the Essential Phone, but over the weeks there are many devices that have been updated to version 9.0 of the green robot.

In the last hours, the news has emerged that even Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is going to have a “taste” of the cake of Android, which always uses names of sweets to name the new versions. Currently, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 has as its operating system Android Oreo but is now ready to update itself to Pie. Along with the latest version of Android, ZenFone Max Pro M1 will also receive official EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) support.

Android 9.0 Pie is not new for the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1. In recent weeks, the phone has already received some unofficial versions of Pie, made especially by the developers of the famous XDA forum. During the past month, users have also figured out how to enable EIS without root. Fortunately, Android Pie will make this feature a little more official.

The news was announced by the head of the mobile division of Asus in India, during an interview with the GeekyRanjit portal. Regarding the update, the timing was not revealed, so at the moment it is not clear when it will be possible for users to have it available.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is certainly a cheap and pleasant device, used by many people, which will further improve with the arrival of Android Pie. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, combined with an Adreno 509 GPU, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable even up to 2000 GB via microSD.

The smartphone is also characterized by a dual rear camera, consisting of a 13 MP sensor and another 5 MP. On the front we find an 8 MP camera. The device also has a huge 5000 mAh battery.
