US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) by 5G technology has made an explanation for concern about the potential impact on human health. Officials underline that there are no new restrictions on exposure to technology or the radio frequencies it uses. To sum up, the 5G does not pose an extra threat to health.
After reviewing the current radiofrequency standards for 6 years, FCC President Ajit Pai instructed to revise these standards and to implement new service-agnostic rules. This instruction covered mobile phones, laptops, small cells and tower operations, and all technologies including 3G, 4G, and 5G. The regulations aim to protect people against harmful radiofrequency exposure by limiting the amount of acceptable energy absorbed by the human body when exposed to electromagnetic fields.
Many countries follow the radio frequency directive of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for mobile phones. Accordingly, 10 grams of tissue over 2 Watts per kilogram per accepted. The FCC, on the other hand, accepts the 1.6 Watt standard on 1 gram of tissue. In this sense, it is stated that the limits for 5G need not be renewed. In addition, operators need to change the formulas they use to calculate the placement of the antennas. The authorities do not expect industry players to make any major changes.
