Fans call Diablo Immortal Game Franchise A Slap In The Face

The online portal known as GameInformer has reported latest information on fans’ backlash  about Diablo Immortal. Following the game release this past weekend at the Blizzcon event, many fans have reacted negatively to the announcement as they were expecting a major installment to the franchise.

Fans say that the upcoming title ‘Diablo Immortal’ is a slap in the face. Why? Because, according to some, it looks like a re-skin of a game that exists in the name of Crusader Light, which is a game created by a game company called NeTEase.

Both Blizzard co-founder, Allen Adham explained in an interview that the studio was waiting for scornful remarks from fans but they were not expecting it to be this enormous. Fans are angry because of their love for the game, he said, but he added that the Diablo franchise is a very big focus for the company, although fans are finding it hard to understand that.

Adham claims that his company knows that fans are passionate about PC and consoles, as they have seen that trajectory before. A similar response came when it was announced that the studio was bringing Diablo console, and Heartstone.

Passion drives the company too, he says, and adds that it is what keeps the company going. He however said he wishes the company could do more to satisfy the urge of the fans.

Blizzard Responds To Backlash Surrounding Diablo Immortal

Following Diablo Immortal’s reveal at Blizzcon this weekend, many fans have reacted to the announcement negatively as most hoped for a next major installment to the franchise.

He reassured fans that although the game is not what fans expected, Blizzard is still working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects that fans will soon get to see. These projects are sure to come even after the announcement of Immortal.

But he refuted the claims by fans that Diablo Immortal is just a re-skin of another existing game. He said that all assets and the works of art are unique to Diablo Immortal. This was the intention from the conception to the creation of the game.
