Former Apple CEO John Sculley who is the co-founder of Obi, a Silicon Valley-based company has just announced a couple devices that will be heading to Nigeria. These new handsets are the Obi Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5.
These two new affordable smartphones from Obi will also come cheap, they are priced at N25,000 and N39,000.
They also are very unique in terms of their design language. The Obi Worldphone SF1 comes with a 5-inch full HD display, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, a 1.5 GHz octa-coreQualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2-3 GB of RAM, 16-32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera , dual SIM capabilities, 3000 mAh battery. While the Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 which is the quite cheaper variant comes in a 5-inch HD display, Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front-facing camera , dual SIM capabilities and a 3000 mAh battery. This will set you aback at 25 thousand naira
Though Obi is American company the device will first launch in Nigeria, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Pakistan, Turkey and India before it hits the USA.
