How to Download and install the Google Apps or Gapps

How to download and install Google Apps or Gapps, Google Apps or Gapps are almost never pre-installed on custom ROMs and if you wish to have Gapps on your smartphone you will need to download and install them.

Google Apps include Play Store, Gmail, Maps, Google Backup Transport, Car Home, YouTube, Google Search, Google Voice Search, Google Music, and Google Docs.

If you have a bit of installation experience you will have no problem installing the Gapps.

How to install Google Apps or Gapps

  1. Choose the package of the Gapps you want to download/install.
  2. Download the Gapps.
  3. (It will be a zip file, leave it as is. No need to unzip it) start the device in recovery mode (how to do it varies depending on the device)
  4. Using the volume keys, select “Install zip from sdcard” or similar, then press the Power button to select.
  5. Select “choose zip from sdcard” on the SD card in the device and find the previously downloaded Gapps.zip folder.
  6. Select it and wait for the installation to finish successfully.
  7. Restart the device, now you should have the Gapps installed.

Now you will find all the Google Apps depending on the chosen package installed on your device.

Gapps package that allows access to the Playstore & Play services. It is highly recommended because it is small. Then you can download other applications from the Playstore later. helps you save space and not use the Google Apps you don’t use. (Recommended)

Nano Google Apps

A larger package of pico that has few other applications contains all Google applications and frameworks.

This package is designed for those who use all Google applications or prefer to install their own applications. In this package, you will find Google’s basic services, Google’s Android sharing services, Google Play Store, Google Exchange services and many more.
