Gionee Mobile in March 2016 launched its clamshell Android smartphone with dual 4.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution IPS touch display, fingerprint sensor dubbed Gionee W909.
Since the Gionee W909 has a flip phone design, it comes with a T9 keypad with physical buttons to navigate.
Under the hood, the Gionee W909 comes with an octa-core Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 processor, clubbed with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, an amount of memory that most high-end smartphones has.
The smartphone comes with a 64GB of built-in storage, of which 52GB is user-accessible, and it is supplemented by a Micro SD card slot up to 128GB.
The Gionee W909 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, HDR and LED flash while sporting a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for making video calls or selfies.
Android 5.1 Lollipop powers the Gionee W909 with Gionee’s custom Amigo UI layered on top and juiced by a 2530mAh non-removable battery that should keep the lights on all day long. The W909 on paper can deliver up to 29.7 hours of talk time and 408 hours of standby time
. The smartphone measures 124.10 x 62.80 x 16.50 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 207.00 grams.
The Gionee W909 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Regular and Micro-SIM.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE networks, along with Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C connectivity. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, along with Gyroscope.
It is only available in Rose Gold colour variant. It is priced at approximately $620.
