Haier Alpha A3 Lite is a simple design smartphone that comes with minimal but splendid features. The entry-level device, which was released in the month of December 2018, comes without many frills. It is really light, small enough and has its specifications toned down to make it very affordable.

It manages to have display protection features, dual rear camera of not-so-great value and battery that is large enough for the device to maintain a “Lite” appearance.

Haier Alpha A3 Lite Design and Display

The body design of this smartphone is plastic and dimensions are 144.9 x 72.6 x 10.9 mm and it weighs 183 grams. It comes in one color – black. However, this phone is not a water resistant device, it has no fingerprint sensor and no face recognition technology.

The device sports a 5 screen inches size of IPS capacitive multi-touch screen, which comes without a secondary display. Further, it comes with 1280 x 720 pixels of screen resolution. Pixel density is 294 ppi. Also, it comes with 2.5D curved glass display.

Camera Features

There is dual camera setup of 8 MP and 2 MP f/2.0 aperture at the rear. The rear primary lenses have flash options. To the front, the selfie camera is 5 MP and it comes also with LED flash. Further, the video performance is 1080p@30fps FHD recording option.

Camera features include geotagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto focus, and HDR.

Hardware and Software

Android OS v8.1 Oreo Go Edition is the operating system in the device. In addition, Spreadtrum SC9832E chipset comes with it and works with 28nm process technology. However, there is 32-bit architecture for the device as well. Going further at the performance department, the CPU is 1.3 GHz Quad-core Cortex A7, while the GPU is Mali 400 MP2.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

The memory of the phone is 1GB of RAM which cannot be expanded. Further, there is also a good 8GB internal storage in the device. It is possible to increase internal storage space externally to 64GB with micro-SD card. Accelerometer, proximity, and ambient light are the sensors found inside the Haier Alpha A3 Lite.

Network and Connectivity

Supported network in Haier Alpha A3 Lite are GSM, HSPA, and LTE. That makes it a 4G device but it also works with 2G and 3G networks. Furthermore, there is provision for two micro/nano SIM card slots. There is no space for a hybrid SIM in the device.

Other connectivity components are Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, headphone jack, and micro USB 2.0. However, there is no infrared, NFC, and no HDMI in the Haier Alpha A3 Lite.

Battery Life in Haier Alpha A3 Lite

Battery power of this device is a Li-Ion 2500 mAh removable battery that does not have wireless charging, nor fast charging technology. Talk time and standby time are reputed to be up to 7 hours and up to 160 hours respectively.
