Apple TV owners have another reason to prefer a streaming box in front of a set-top box. HBO Holding has released a new version of HBO GO, which also supports Apple TV in our region.
Some markets were already available as an independent HBO GO application. It was last updated during the summer and supported only by mobile devices, iPhone and iPad. However, the new application eliminates this deficiency and will be pleased with the support of some added countries. Thanks to the application, HBO subscribers can access their favourite content at any time, such as movies, serials, and exclusive content.
This includes well-known series such as Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies or Westworld, as well as other serials for which HBO produces itself. It includes S3x in the City, Sopranos and The Wire. In short, users will find more than 2,000 hours of content.
HBO GO can only be used by those who have paid HBO at their cable operator but should be able to subscribe to HBO GO directly through an app on their Apple TV. The service can also be subscribed to through Telekom, which provides it at € 9.99 per month with first two months free. The price is closer to Netflix, while Amazon Prime is currently priced at just 2.99 € per month for the first six months.
HBO Go is a free app to download and works on any device running iOS 8 or later and on Apple TV.
