The HomTom HT70 is now available for sale on shopping stores after being announced earlier this year. The rugged-like smartphone is the newest addition to the HT series from HomTom.
The HT70 comes with flagship features like 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Octa-core processor and a massive 10000mAh battery. According to HomTom, the battery on the HT70 can last for 20 hours on heavy usage. Want to know more about the HT70? Stay with me.
Design
A combination of Aluminium Alloy and Plastic with first-class finishing, the HT70 is a beauty to behold. It has unique edges that isn’t popular in the smartphone world, as the back reflects light beautifully as well. The dual rear shooters are in a vertical foundation with the LED flash at the top left.
Even though the vertical rear cameras is giving me some Galaxy S9 Plus vibe, the fingerprint scanner by the left might take us back to the Galaxy S8. The fingerprint scanner might not be in a flattering position but the symmetrical aesthetics at the back is pretty solid. The device is available in Black and Silver colors only.
Display
Sporting a curved bezel-less screen which is brilliant to watch from any angle you want. It has an octagon-like shape even from the front. The speaker grille, ambient light sensor and selfie camera sits at the top bezel, while the HomTom logo sits at the bottom.
Focusing on the screen now, the 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen won’t be winning any award here. It has just 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution with just 268 pixel per inch density. Furthermore, it comes with quality color saturation and GFF full lamination technology for clear visuals.
Hardware and Software
Behind this beauty is the MediaTek MT6750T chipset with Octa-core processor clocking at 1.5 GHz for a smooth ride. It has a 64-bit CPU architecture, 28nm process technology, while the ARM Mali-T860 MP2 is in charge of graphics clocking at 650MHz.
The 4GB RAM on this device boasts of a memory speed of 833MHz for fast multitasking. While the 64GB storage is upgradeable up to 256GB, so you can store files if you want, including games, movies and the rest. It runs on an older Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, no words yet if it will get the Oreo update.
Camera
Two is always better than one, the 16MP + 5MP rear camera with f/2.8 aperture can capture 4K resolution images. The camera comes with a LED flash and other quality features which helps in taking photographs with 4608 x 3456 pixels in dimension. Record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second and take stunning selfies with the 13MP sony camera at the front. The selfie camera has a 2.8 aperture as well with no LED flash in sight.
Battery
Powering the HomTom HT70 is a 10000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
