Hotwav M5 is an entry-level smartphone released in the month of June 2018. The smartphone is known for its moderate features. From camera features to storage capacity, we can easily detect that it is not made for people who want superb smartphone performance. One reason is that it does not have 4G internet network.

Design and Display of Hotwav M5
Body design of the device is bar shape as most smartphones are. The dimensions are 16.40 x 8.60 x 5.30 cm and it weighs 350 grams; too heavy for anybody’s liking. The colors on the smartphone are black, light pink, and champagne gold. The smartphone is not water resistant at all.
Display type is HD+ IPS capacitive touch screen of 16 million colors. The screen size is 5.7 inches large. There is no secondary display in the device. Pixel density is 401 ppi, pixel resolution is 720 x 1440.
Camera Features
There are two cameras in the Hotwav M5. There is a single 8 MP with dual LED flash at the rear. Special features are not specified. At the front, there is 8 MP that comes with some cool features too. Video performances vary and all of these come with FHD recording effects.
Other regular features include geotagging, HDR, face detection, panorama, face detection, etc. The camera handles moderately the photos and videos that are produced.
Hardware and Software of Hotwav M5
Android OS v8.1 Oreo is the driving operating system in the device. We believe that this will surely update to the latest Android 9 Pie. Additionally, there is MediaTek 6580p chipset inside the device. In addition to that, Quad-core 1.3 GHz CPU also helps speed up processing for this smartphone. In addition, the device runs on 64-bit architecture.
However, high speed apps and heavy users cannot rely on this smartphone and expect it to deliver normally as other devices would. The performance is rather poor.
Storage Capacity and Sensors
There is 2GB of Ram that cannot be expanded and also an additional internal storage 16GB of ROM that can be increased through a microSD card up to 64GB. Sensors are follows, accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, and fingerprint.
Network and Connectivity
For Hotwav M5, supported networks are 2G and 3G. In other words, the device can handle GSM, and UMTS. There are two Nano SIM card slots to drive the use of network and connectivity.
Similarly, other components are Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, microUSB 2.0 Type C, and other features. In this device, there is no NFC.
Battery Life
There is a 3050 mAh battery that provides adequate backup for the Hotwav M5. This battery life is okay for a heavy day’s use. In view of this, the manufacturer said the phone can be used for a full day on a single full charge.
Price and Availability
Price of the device is about $135 USD. This price has been said by analysts to be too much for an entry-level smartphone. Having been released in June 2018 the Hotwav M5 is available now for purchase.
