How to disable Apple News Notifications on Mac

By default, Apple News sends notifications to the Mac, creating a constant stream of “news” alerts on the desktop, on the locked screen, and in the MacOS Notification Center. If you want to disable Apple News Notifications on Mac and not see the news, you can disable it completely for the News app.

How to disable Apple News notifications on Mac

  • Select “Notifications” to access the Mac Notification Center preferences
  • Locate “News” from the list of apps that send notifications and choose “None” as a Google News alert style
  • Exit as usual from System Preferences
Turn off Apple News notifications

After choosing “None” as an alert type for Apple News Notifications, you will no longer receive any of these on your Mac.
