STEPS TO FIND THE RIGHT LAPTOP

These days, there are different kinds of laptops and computers, and sometimes you just don’t know which one to pick. Sometimes it very difficult to figure out which laptop is better for you.

Bear in mind that, there are laptops for gamers, laptops for those who love movies, there are laptops for techies, there are laptops that specializes on a different aspect of usage. So before considering on getting a laptop for yourself, first ask yourself this question, what exactly do you want to use the laptop for?

After answering that personal question, then begin to consider the below tips.

  1. Screen size and weight

Consider whether you want a mini laptop with small size or you want a big laptop with a large screen, also bear in mind that the bigger the screen size the heavier the laptop might be.

Laptop screens usually range in different size from 9 to 18 inch (sometimes it about 22 – to 44-centimeter) displays. The larger the display (screen), the heavier your laptop will be. Weigh the amount of portability you want against performance to discover the right size of laptop for you.

Larger screens might sometimes be very hard to travel with and have shorter battery life compared to small laptops but will carry better graphics and even more power. Smaller screens will be just the opposite

  1. Central Processing Unit

The Central Processing Unit is your computer’s big guy. There are two main CPU providers which are AMD and Intel. Intel is best known for advanced technology, while AMD gives competitive models at cheaper prices. Dual-core CPUs are more great with enhanced support for graphics and gaming, while single-core CPUs are better for those who use their computer for vital web-browsing and office functions.

  1. RAM

I am using a 2 GB RAM mini laptop, to tell you the truth, the laptop is cool, it super easy to carry about and the battery life is good also. But the problem is it can be very slow at times and it does not support some software due to its screen size.

For home users and business travelers should be thinking of a 2 GB ram laptop or 4 GB RAM. Gamers, movies lovers, graphic designers and other people who work with high-tasking activity should be thinking of a 4 GB to 8 GB RAM laptop.

An average student looking for a cheap laptop for doing homework or even e-mailing or web browsing can go for a 1 GB to 2 GB RAM laptop.

  1. Keyboard

Due to the limitation placed on laptops by the laptop’s physical size, well, desktop models tend to be more varied than laptop keyboards. For a typical example, there is room for a numeric keypad on only bigger laptops.

Also, a lot of laptops have undersized arrow keys or backslash keys that are on the right-hand side rather than on the left side of the keypad.

Only some laptops keypad have End, Home, Page Up, insert, Page Down keys. If there isn’t a physical key for those keys, you’ll need to use a Function (Fn) key combination instead. If you only need these keys to move around a text document then you need to look for a system (laptop) where all these functions are included and are visible by separate physical keys.
