Even with Huawei phones with high-quality cameras and powerful hardware systems, the camera app may not respond. This may be due to system bugs or third-party app permissions. As a result, the camera app shows you the error. Below you have all the solutions for when the camera app does not work on your Huawei / Honor phone.

1. Clear data and cache

If the problem occurs with the Camera app pre-installed, you can clear the app data and cache to resolve the problem. To do this, go to Settings> Apps> Camera> Storage. Here you need to touch Clear data and Clear cache.

Note: Clearing the camera’s data and the cache will restore the Huawei Camera app to its default values, but will not delete photos and videos.

2. Grant the necessary authorization to third-party apps

For many people, third-party camera apps are a godsend. Native camera apps on Android devices aren’t known to be powerful, so people choose more feature-rich options.

If you are using one of these camera apps, delete it and see if the problem resolves itself. You can still keep the app, but remove it by default on your phone.

Alternatively, perhaps the problem is caused by the native camera app. Also, try the opposite if you’re using the factory-installed camera app. Download the Google Camera app and see if it works.

3. Restart device

The Huawei Camera app may also not respond if a third-party app uses the camera. A simple reboot could solve the problem.

In the end, but not least, if you still cannot open the Huawei camera, then there is the possibility that the camera is damaged, due to a fall, in this case, it will be necessary to visit the nearest service center for solving the problem.
