Huawei Honor 10 VS OnePlus 6 – Affordable smartphones powered by powerful hardware. You probably won’t find any other premium mid-range smartphones like the Huawei Honor 10 and OnePlus 6 in the market right now. Accidentally, the Huawei Honor 10 was released on May 15. And the next day May 16, the OnePlus 6 was released. One major thing the Honor and OnePlus brand have in common is their ability to deliver powerful smartphones at affordable prices.

The OnePlus 6 and Huawei Honor 10 are capable of challenging most high-end smartphones in the market due to their hardware. So let’s see how these two premium smartphones match up against each other. And aside from their high-end hardware, what other great features do they offer.

The Huawei Honor 10 and OnePlus 6 comes in an all-glass body with aluminum frame. Aside from having the same front and glass body, they both feature a notch display. While the Huawei Honor 10 comes with a home button, which is where you will find its fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus features no home button as OnePlus are aiming for a full-screen display, instead, you find the fingerprint sensor at the back. The Huawei Honor 10 will be the ideal smartphone for those who prefer lightweight device. The Honor 10 weighs just 153 grams and measures 149.6 x 71.2 x 7.7mm. While the OnePlus 6 is heavier with a weight of 177 grams and measures 155.7 x 75.4 x 7.8mm.

Both the OnePlus 6 and Honor 10 features a dual rear camera aligned differently at the back. The Honor 10’s dual rear camera is in a horizontal position at the top left. While the OnePlus 6’s dual rear camera is in a vertical position at the center above the fingerprint sensor. The body color of the Honor 10 changes when you change the angle you look at it from. According to Honor, its because the phone is built with 15 layers of 3D glass panels that create an aurora-like effect. The Honor 10 is available in four body colors; Phantom Blue, Phantom Green, Midnight Black and Glacier Grey. The OnePlus 6 also has the Midnight Black body color model along with Silk White and Mirror Black.

The OnePlus 6 features better display quality than the Honor 10 cause of the screen technology. An Optic AMOLED 6.28 inch screen is featured on the OnePlus 6. While a IPS LCD 5.84 inch screen is featured on the Huawei Honor 10. They both feature a notch at the top screen, while the Honor 10 features a bottom bezel equipped with a home button. The Honor 10 sports a 19:9 aspect ratio just like the OnePlus 6. Their display resolution is the same 1080 x 2280 pixels. While the OnePlus 6 comes with 402 PPI density and the Honor 10 with a 432 PPI density. The Honor 10 features better pixels per inch density due to its smaller screen size.

The Huawei Honor 10 is rumored to be a stripped version of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, which is why it’s equipped with a strong camera quality. The Honor 10 features a dual rear camera with a primary 16MP sensor combined with a secondary 24MP sensor. Both sensors of the Honor 10 features a f/1.8 aperture and has AI technology. At the front of the Honor 10 is a 24MP sensor for quality selfies.

On paper, the Honor 10 beats the OnePlus 6 but that might not be the case in a real test. The OnePlus 6’s front camera has a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. While the rear camera is equipped with a primary 16MP sensor and a secondary 20MP sensor, both sensors come with a f/1.7 aperture.

One of the highlights of the OnePlus 6 and Honor 10 is their powerful hardware. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset is used by only high-end smartphones while the Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset is used by only Huawei high-end smartphones. But both the OnePlus 6 and Huawei Honor 10 are powered by this powerful hardware. OnePlus 6 is still the cheapest smartphone with a Snapdragon 845 chip. And same goes for Honor 10 with the Hisilicon Kirin 970 chip. Even the Huawei P20 Lite isn’t powered by Hisilicon Kirin 970 chip.

They both run on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 skin for the Honor 10 and Oxygen OS 5.1 skin for the OnePlus 6. They both have a 6GB memory with the 64GB model. While the Honor 10 has a smaller 4GB memory model. And the OnePlus 6 has a bigger model of 8GB memory.

The difference in their battery capacity is slim. The Honor 10 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 3400 battery while the OnePlus 6 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 3300 battery. No wireless charging for either of them but they do have a different version of fast battery charging.

The OnePlus 6 is sold at around $613 (N214,550), which is surprisingly cost than the Honor 10 that’s sold for about $470 (N164,500). The Honor 10 probably has better camera quality than the OnePlus 6 and even battery capacity. While the OnePlus 6 will take pride in its AMOLED display and Snapdragon chipset.
