Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate RS all getting the Android Pie Treatment in less than a week

The new Huawei Devices – Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X all comes with the latest EMUI 9.0 based Android 9.0 Pie and have recently received it’s first update which focuses on some camera improvements as well as updated security patches. Now, Huawei are shifting the focus on to the older Huawei flagships which includes the Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate RS. The beta testing of the Android 9.0 Pie (With EMUI 9.0) for the aforementioned devices are already underway which was formerly a closed beta but has now been made public. So if you own any of the devices then you will be able to install the beta update on your device.

Huawei claims that the new update will be 51% faster than previous EMUI version and will reduce app startup time and overall smoothness by more than 42%. The update will bring along Android 9.0 Pie features along with Huawei’s features. To get the update when it is out, all you have to do is go to the Huawei Mobile services app, Click on services and Select the “beta upgrade” Option. After doing that, it is now a waiting game till the update is pushed to your device. You should also know that since this is a beta update and not the official/stable update, you might encounter a few bugs. If you do, be sure to report it to Huawei.
