iPhone XS Max Model Number Comparison and Differences [A1921, A2101, A2102, A2104 ]

As part of the Apple new phones of 2018, the iPhone XS Max is the biggest smartphone ever from Apple. The phone was launched along with other brand and it features a massive battery capacity with other regulars that you will love to have. It’s also the most expensive phones that cost approximately $1,099 to $1,449 for the higher storage.

iPhone XS Max Model

The iPhone XS Max features a large screen display with advanced processor and features as well. It’s similar with the iPhone XS and they are both powered by an A12 Bionic chip with 7nm CPU and 8-core Neural Engine for faster Face ID and impressive cameras that features Smart HDR or dynamic depth of field.

Both phones also feature a higher inbuilt memory of 512GB and they are built with stainless steel and glass design, notched front display, dual rear camera setup, IP68 rating, and OLED Super Retina displays panels. The differences between the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max is the bigger battery capacity on the Max hence the name which will last longer than the battery on iPhone XS.

Other notable difference is that the iPhone XS Max has a bigger screen size of 6.5-inch while the iPhone XS has 5.8-inch. Apart from this, both phones feature Dual SIM Dual Standby technology. The iPhone XS Max support a single Nano SIM with a digital eSIM while the iPhone XS support dual Nano SIM card at the same time.

On the model number, the iPhone XS Max is available in 4 models and they are A1921, A2101, A2102, and A2104. They offer different LTE bands and a SIM card. We will be looking at the difference between the models below.

iPhone XS Max A1921 Model

The iPhone XS Max A1921 is the United States version with support for both GSM and CDMA networks. Its available as a SIM-free factory-unlocked edition at Apple Store.
Apart from the USA, you can also buy the phone in Canada and Puerto Rico. It supports dual SIMs, one is Nano and the other is eSIM. When buying the phone, make sure you buy the unlocked version so that you can use it in different carriers without any form of restriction.

iPhone XS Max A2102 Model

The iPhone XS Max A2102 is for the Japanese market only. It uses exclusive bands in Japan and they include band 11 for au and SoftBank, band 21 for Docomo, and band 42
It also supports dual SIM, one is Nano and the other is eSIM. Apart from this, the phone also has to make a shutter sound when taking photos even if it’s on silent mode. This is to protect privacy in the country.
