Kentucky Fried Chicken (popularly called by its initials – K.F.C) is celebrating its 30th Anniversary and in the light of celebration, the fast food company which specializes in Fried chicken has teamed up with top Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei to launch a smartphone – the KFC Huawei 7 Plus.
The KFC Huawei 7 Plus smartphone will only launch in one colour – the Red colour which does well in signifying the KFC brand. The KFC Huawei 7 Plus is a 5-inch device with HD screen. The display is particularly perfect for great visual experience on the smartphone. The KFC-themed Huawei 7 Plus will also launch with other interesting features like 13 megapixels rear camera, 5 megapixels front camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage which is expandable to up to 128GB using an external micro SD card, and a large 3020mAh battery.
The KFC Huawei 7 Plus smartphone has dimensions 143.5 x 71 x 8.05mm and weighs 145 grams (quite lightweight). Quite interestingly, the KFC Huawei 7 Plus runs on Huawei’s custom EMUI 5.1 based on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
The device has a pretty attractive aesthetic and both the front and back reeks beauty. At the rear, there is fingerprint sensor and right below it, there’s the KFC logo (a Colonel Sanders sketch) and “1987” scribbled below the logo. Moving closer to the bottom of the device also reveals the Huawei logo and the loud-speaker.
Figures have revealed that presently, KFC has a more than 5,000 outlets in China and it is in this sense that KFC have decided to only produce 5,000 units of the KFC Huawei 7 Plus smartphone. The smartphone comes with a special pre-installed music app and the KFC app loaded with 10,000 virtual K dollars which you can use to place orders on the app.
Conclusively, it is worthy of note to mention that Huawei was also launched the same year Colonel Sanders launched KFC – 1987. Also, the KFC smartphone will also be sold exclusively in China (although you should be able to get it in other countries) and sell at a price between $165 – 170.
Other specs of the KFC Huawei 7 Plus smartphone include Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 bgn, GPS and Glonass.
