KingZone S3 – Review
Smartphone company KingZone will be releasing the KingZone S3 on the 18th of February officially. But the phone is already available on Ebay, Aliexpress and Gearbest for less than $80. Announced on the 13th of December 2017, it took the company almost two months to launch the affordable beauty. The KingZone S3 is very affordable with average specs for extremely light users. It took the company quite a long time to launch the S3 after announcing it. Was it worth it? Lets have a look.
Design
The rough back was made from plastic, sporting a rear loudspeaker. The back designed in a rough way with cracked lines for a rugged overall look. The rear camera is located at the top middle, with the LED flash underneath and fingerprint scanner follows suit. All stylishly in a vertical position, giving the back a sleek overall feel.
It measures 8.7 mm in thickness which is not so appealing, but nevertheless its quite light to hold. It weighs just 144g, making it very easy to pick up and operate with a single hand. It supports nano + micro sims, and available in White, Black, Rose Gold and Champagne colors.
Display
Its a budget smartphone, so of course there are still bezels, with tiny narrow bezels. There are three navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, while the selfie camera and sensors sits at the top corner. The 5-inch LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is just like the typically midrange screen.

It boasts of 1280×720 pixels in resolution and 294 pixel per inch density for better clarity. It has a 24 bit color depth resolution and supports multitouch as well. Disappointingly, it couldn’t get up to 70% screen to body ratio, just reaching a 68% mark.
Hardware and Software
Houses a MediaTek MT6580A chipset with Quad-Core processor, reaching a speed of 1.3 GHz. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 is in charge of graphics with 2-Cores and 28nm process technology. There’s no extremely fast processor here, even the CPU architecture is 32-Bit.
Multitask through light apps with 1GB of RAM, which reaches a memory speed of 533 MHz. For storage, there’s a 8GB internal storage space which is upgradeable to 32GB using the microSD slot. KingZone S3 runs smoothly on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with KingZone OS 2.1 user interface.
Camera
Capture beautiful photographs with the 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. Take 3K resolution images with the KingZone S3, up to 3264 x 2448 pixels image dimension. Video resolution with the device is pegged at 720pixels @ 30 frames per second. To make photographs come alive, there’s a LED flash underneath you can use in low light environment. With features like autofocus, touch focus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, exposure compensation, face detection, ISO settings and the rest. For selfies, the 5MP front shooter should do justice to your face.
Battery
KingZone S3 houses a 2600mAh removable Li-Ion battery, with no fast battery charging feature. But look at the bright side, you get to change the battery when it is weak.
