Kyocera Basio 3 with Unique User Interface – Review, Full Specs and Price

Kyocera Basio 3 – Review

Kyocera Basio 3 was released last month by Kyocera, the OEM has one of the most organized user interface. The midrange smartphone is a stunner, and entirely different from the typical Android device you’re used to. The Basio 3 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, boasts of 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Without further ado, lets have a thorough review of the Basio 3 and see what else it has to offer.

Design

Kyocera Basio 3

Its a very portable smartphone, which you can hold and flaunt with ease. The plastic and metal overall back was designed to make it very comfortable to hold and flaunt. The rear camera is guided by dual speakers, one by the left and one by the right. While the LED flash sits just above the rear camera, ready to do its work.

The design is totally different from other midrange Android smartphones these days. Talk about being unique and staying true to your initial design, Kyocera is making smartphones their own way. However, the device is thick and fat to the sides, even though it comes with a low battery capacity. It measures 9.9 mm slim but isn’t heavy at all, weighing just 150g.

Display

I don’t think Kyocera are ready to join the bezel-less train anytime soon though. The device has huge bezels all over, with three navigation buttons, a call button, home button and a message button. While the selfie camera and sensors sits pretty at the top, as the Basio logo is boldly at the bottom.

Surprisingly, the 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen is better than most midrange screen. Boasting of 1080×1920 pixels in resolution with 441 pixel per inch density for immersive display. Although Kyocera got to a barely 67.62% screen to body ratio, but the details on the screen will make you forget that.

Hardware and Software

The Snapdragon 430 chip from Qualcomm is totally in control here, with Octa-core processor. The octa-core processor boasts of a clock speed of 1.4GHz, for fast and smooth performance. The Qualcomm Adreno 505 processor is in charge of everything graphics, with 64-Bit CPU architecture and 28nm LP process technology.

Multitask through the most demanding apps with 3GB RAM space available, the RAM reaches a memory speed of 800MHz. To save everything from files, apps and games, there’s a 32GB internal storage space upgradeable to 128GB. Basio 3 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.

Camera

The rear shooter is a 13MP camera that captures 4K resolution images with one click. Take clear photos with the Basio 3, with images reaching up to 4160 x 3120 Pixels in dimension. Record videos of 1080 pixels with the device @ 30 frames per second. Features on the camera includes touch focus, autofocus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, exposure compensation and others. The selfie shooter is a 5MP standard selfie camera with no front LED flash in sight.

Battery

Kyocera Basio 3 is powered by a 2940mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery, with no fast battery charging feature. Even with the low battery capacity, charging the device takes between 3-4 hours which is not impressive.
