One thing that is spectacular with Kyocera X3 is that when it was rated by fans, they seem to love its design more than anything else. While this is one of the affordable smartphone released in December 2017, everything in the device had a pass mark.

Design and Display of Kyocera X3

Design type is both metal and plastic. These are combined to give the smartphone a very sleek appearance. Dimensions are 149 x 72 x 8.2 mm and it weighs 150 grams. Similarly, it comes in only black, blue, and white colors. Positively, the device has both fingerprint sensor and is water proofed.

Display type is TFT capacitive touch screen of 16 million colors. The screen size is 5.2 inches and there is no secondary display screen. Here, the pixel resolution 1920 x 1080. Pixel density is 424 ppi, aspect ratio is 16:9, and screen to body ratio is 69.7 percent. Hybrid shield is the display protection feature.

Camera Features

There are two cameras in the Kyocera X3. The one at the rear is 13 MP with 4160 x 3120 image pixels. This comes with Full HD recording (FHD), LED flash, and f/2.0 aperture. Other features of the rear camera are auto focus, geo-tagging, continuous shooting, self-timer, touch focus, HDR, panorama, digital zoom, and more.

However, the selfie camera situated to the front is 6 MP which has stringent features and no flash option.

Hardware and Software in Kyocera X3

Android 8.0 Oreo is the primary software that acts as operating system in the device. At this point, we are not sure if it will ever receive firmware update to the latest Android 9 Pie. To assist in operation, there is also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with process technology 14nm and 64-bit architecture. Also, there is CPU Octa-core 4 x 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A53, and GPU Qualcomm Adreno 508, adding to fuel the device for optimum operation.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

For memory sake there is 3GB of RAM which is not expandable and there is 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB through the use of microSD card. Sensors in the device include proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, fingerprint, and compass.

Network and Connectivity

There are 2G, 3G, and 4G internet networks in the device, which means that it is GSM, HSDPA< and LTE compliant. Only one SIM card compartment is found in the smartphone and the size is Nano.

Other connectivity options are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Infrared, headphone jack, NFC, microUSB 2.0, and others. However, there is no HDMI option in the Kyocera X3.

Battery Life

Powering the device is a 2800 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery, which has no wireless charging option. However, it has fast charging option that enables full charge from zero percent in about two hours.

Price and Availability

Pricing of Kyocera X3 is about $160 USD though we cannot tell if the price will remain the same in all stores online. Since the smartphone has been released in December 2017, we trust it is available for purchase.
