Leagoo M9 Review – World’s First Quad Cam Full Screen Budget Smartphone

Leagoo, the official mobile partner of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. isn’t planning to let go of the rope in the OEMs tug of war as it unveils the Leagoo M9. For the records, Leagoo M9 is the world’s first quad cam full screen budget smartphone to grace the Android smartphone market. Having seen Leagoo’s releases such as the Leagoo S8 and Leagoo S8 Pro which represent the higher end fraction of the smartphone world, and the Leagoo T5C which represents the mid-range fraction of the market, it’s of good consideration from Leagoo to release another device – Leagoo M9 into the Android smartphone market for the lower end fraction. DESIGN AND DISPLAY

Leagoo M9’s quad cam architecture gives it off as an aesthetic edifice. Adding to this, its display has very thin bezels which drags comparisons to that of Samsung Galaxy S8, and a portable nature expressed through its 153 g weight. Its dimensions are 148.00 mm x 71.2 mm x 9.5 mm. Made of polycarbonate body material, the smartphone has three colour options which are – Champagne, Black and Blue. The dedicated keys on the smartphone appear on the smartphone’s right side. A 5.5-inches display, screen resolution of 1280 x 640 pixels and 260 ppi pixel density is what Leagoo M9 boasts of.

Unlike most 5.5 inches display screens with 16:9 aspect ratio, Leagoo M9 has a full screen aspect ratio of 18:9. More beauty is bestowed on the smartphone with the 2.5D Curved Glass on its display. Guiding the smartphone’s display screen from shattering when it falls from high positions is the Corning Gorilla Glass.

HARDWARE, SOFTWARE AND MEMORY

In line with its budget nature, the system-on-chip integrated in the smartphone is the MediaTek MT6580A. The CPU fueling the smartphone’s operations is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-A7 that clocks at a speed of 1.3GHz. The four-cored CPU makes use of the 28m process technology. Also in the hardware section is the dual core ARM Mali-T400 MP2 GPU. In the software region,  Leagoo M9 makes use of Leagoo’s modified OS – the Leagoo 0S 3.0 Lite which is modified based on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The memory compartment witness 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be extended to a max of 32GB wwith the adoption of a microSD card.

CAMERA, CONNECTIVITY AND BATTERY

Dual camera is present at the fore with 5 MP and 2 MP qualities to take care of snapping selfies. A LED flash is also present to brighten the images. At the rear, the dual camera has qualities of 8 MP and 2 MP with the presence of a dual LED flash. No 4G network type is present in this smartphone, only the 2G and 3G network types. A removable Lithium Ion 2,850 mAh is what provides the durability of the smartphone.
