The highly anticipated Chromium-powered Edge browser by Microsoft has been leaked online. The browser can now be downloaded via links on popular beta sharing forums and many file sharing websites. From has been seen so far, the browser seems to be an early copy of the Chromium-powered Edge browser which Microsoft should soon release in public review.
The new version of the Edge browser by Microsoft is built on Chromium. Early builds of the browser features Chrome extension support, syncing of favorites, and some custom tweaks to the user interface. TechVaz was able to get an exclusive look at the browser. From our studies, the browser works great on Windows 10. However, there are certain features you would probably expect from Edge which were missing.
The set-aside tabs feature by Microsoft hasn’t been added to the browser yet. It also doesn’t have the inking with a stylus feature. There are hopes, however, that these features will be implemented soon. The Edge browser’s dark mode can only be used via a testing flag right now, the same way Google is implementing Dark mode in the Chrome browser. A macOS version of the Edge browser is in the works. Although, we are not sure whether it will be released at the same time as the updated Windows version.
