Although the IFA 2016 event in Berlin has officially ended, Lenovo is not ready to stop churning out new phones. The smartphone manufacturing company has launched two new devices in the “A” series, namely the Lenovo A6600 and Lenovo A6600 Plus.

As you would guess, the Lenovo A6600 Plus should be an upgrade of the Lenovo A6600, but surprisingly the only aspect(s) in which both devices differ are just the RAM capacity and well, the price!

Display & Design

The Lenovo A6600 & Lenovo A6600 Plus come with 5-inch IPS displays with an HD (1280 * 720) pixel resolution. The devices have a 72% screen-to-body ratio and a contrast ratio of 800:1 to give you sharp on-screen images from almost any angle.

The design of the Lenovo A6600 and Lenovo A6600 Plus is similar to that of their immediate predecessor in the Lenovo A series, the Lenovo A6000, but the bezels and edges of the A6600 series are shiny and give a more premium feel than the A6000, even though they are manufactured using the same rubberised plastic material.

Memory & Performance

The Lenovo A6600 comes with 1GB of RAM capacity while the Lenovo A6600 Plus has a RAM capacity of 2GB. The duo pack 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded further with the help of a micro SD card.

Both smartphones are powered by 64-bit MT6735P processors with four processor cores and a speed of 1GHz. The processor compartment also comes with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics operations.

Connectivity & Battery

The Lenovo A6600 and Lenovo A6600 Plus come with dual-SIM slots and support 4G LTE network connectivity with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) capabilities. Wireless connection is moderately fast with Wi-Fi 802.1w b/g/n, and smartphone-smartphone file transfers is made easier with Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Location determination is also possible with GPS integrated into the smartphones.

Both the Lenovo A6600 and Lenovo A6600 Plus have 2,300mAh batteries which can last up to 12 hours from full charge.

Camera

The Lenovo A6600 & Lenovo A6600 Plus sport 8MP single camera units at the front accompanied with a LED flash. The rear cameras possess auto focus which allows you to capture images fast. At the front of the devices are 2MP camera units for taking selfies.

Software and Hardware

There isn’t much to talk about concerning hardware in the Lenovo A6600 and Lenovo A6600 Plus, but their software specs are a bit encouraging. The Lenovo A6600 & Lenovo A6600 Plus run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Lenovo’s Vibe UI layered on top to offer you more features.

Lenovo A6600 & A6600 Plus Price in Nigeria, Kenya and India

The Lenovo A6600 and Lenovo A6600 Plus will be available in Matte White and Black Matte colours starting from mid-September. The Lenovo A6600 will cost Rs. 6999 in India, N33,000 in Nigeria and KES 10,588 in Kenya.

The Lenovo A6600 Plus on the other hand will cost Rs. 7749 in India, N36,500 in Nigeria and KES 11,723 in Kenya.
