LG Q7 Plus is the advanced version of the Q7 midrange smartphone we reviewed earlier. The Q7 Plus comes with lots of new features for heavy users, although they both look the same regarding design, some changes have been made underneath as well.
The Plus version has Quad DACs just like the G7 and V30 flagships. There’s also Hi-Fi audio with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound as well. The storage space has been expanded further up to 64GB, same as the RAM space, now at 4GB. Let’s see what else the LG Q7 Plus has to offer.
Design
The Q7 Plus sports the same solid Metal unibody just like its little sibling, the body has MIL-STD-810G-compliant as well. You can also go swimming with the device; it’s IP68 certified, offering dust and water resistant to not more than 1.5mtr underwater and up to 30 minutes.
The rear camera, LED flash and fingerprint scanner is still in the usual position. They are vertical at the top middle, with the Q7 inscription boldly written. It measures 8.4 mm in thickness and weighs 145g as well. You can get it in Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, and Lavender Violet colors.
Display
If you’re into midrange smartphones and you don’t like the notch, then this might be a perfect fit. It comes with the standard bezel-less screen, with top and bottom bezels, even the narrow bezels came out to play a little bit.
The 5.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 439 pixel per inch density. The screen dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio and displays stunning visuals. There’s a 2.5D glass on top, as it stretches up to 78.3% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Running the race here is the Snapdragon 450 chip from Qualcomm with an Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here runs at a fast speed of 1.8GHz with 14nm process technology. The Adreno 506 graphics processor from Qualcomm controls graphics.
Launch your favorite heavy apps and multitask through them all with 4GB of RAM space available here. The RAM boasts of a fast memory speed of 933MHz as well. The storage space is now 64GB strong, easily upgrade up to 400GB anytime. The LG Q7 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Camera
The 16MP rear shooter now takes more clearer images than the camera on the Q7. The camera has f/2.0 aperture and captures stunning photographs; there’s phase detection autofocus, touch focus, face detection, panorama and a LED flash for low light shots. Shoot videos of 1080p@30fps, while the 8MP selfie camera has a 100° super wide angle lens for group selfies.
Battery
Powering the LG Q7 Plus is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.3 hours.
