The LG V40 thinQ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 are both built with a flashy and shiny metal and glass.  On the back, they are both blessed with the same horizontal cameras arrangement. The LG V40 thinQ has three cameras set-up, while the Galaxy Note has a dual camera set-up. They are both blessed with a fingerprint scanner as well with additional Face ID on the front for security. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is available in lavender, blue, silver and black colors while the LG V40 thinQ is available in Blue and Black colors. On the overall, the Note 9 looks more elegant and beautiful than the later and it’s available in multiple colors as well.

The LG V40 thinQ has a display size of 6.4-inch quad-HD with a higher resolution of 3120 x 1440 OLED while the Galaxy Note 9 has a similarly 6.4 inches sized with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 Super AMOLED screen. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will offer HDR content viewing with a brighter, more colorful and more true to life than it’s rival. The Note 9 also has 604 nits while the LG V40 thinQ has 571 nits brightness. On the display, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 still has the point.

On the camera department, the LG V40 thinQ has three camera configuration on the back. The sensors include a telephoto, standard and wide-angle lens, and two lenses in the front for selfies. The cameras consist of 12-MP standard (f/1.5), 16-MP wide angle (f/1.9), and 12-MP telephoto (f/2.4) while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has dual rear cameras set-up of 12-MP lenses (f/1.5 and f/2.4). Both cameras will capture wonderful photos, but it seems the Note 9 will takes more accurate details than it’s rival. On the front, the LG V40 thinQ has a dual front-facing camera of 8 MP (f/1.9) and 5-MP wide angle (f/2.2), whereas the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a single front camera of 8 MP (f/1.7).

The LG V40 thinQ has 64GB which is expandable while the Galaxy Note 9 has inbuilt memory starting from 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB which is also expandable with micro SD card. On the battery, the LG V40 thinQ has a nonremovable battery capacity of 3300 mAh, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a massive battery capacity of 4000 mAh. Both phones support both fast and wireless charging technology.

The LG V40 thinQ will start selling from $900 while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with 64GB will cost $999 and the bigger model with a 512GB jump to $1249.

Our Verdict:

Both phones are unique and amazing in their own way. The LG V40 thinQ sports five cameras set-up while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a special S-PEN that you can use to do a lot. Apart from the S-PEN, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will slightly outperform the LG V40 thinQ smartphone making it the final winner in this comparison. Where the LG V40 thinQ will make a better choice is on the price, it’s more affordable than Note 9.
